Musk Melon Cooler (கிர்ணிப்பழச் சாறு)

Musk melon (கிர்ணிப்பழம்) is rich in dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals, mainly potassium, and low in calories. In native medicine, musk melon is used to treat constipation, hyper-acidity and peptic ulcer. Musk melon juice makes an ideal summer cooler.
Musk Melon

Ingredients: (Serves four)
Musk melon – medium sized, 1 no
Sugar – 5 tablespoons 

Method: Wash the fruit well. Cut musk melon into length-wise quarters. Scoop out the seeds using a spoon. Peel the skin and cut the flesh into cubes. Blend the musk melon cubes with sugar and 2 tumblers (400ml) of water in a mixer-grinder. Transfer the juice to a vessel. Refrigerate for 10 minutes and serve immediately to prevent loss of nutrients due to oxidation.

Note: You may add juice of half lemon to the musk melon juice, mix well and serve immediately.
